Who We Are

Preserve Penfield is a grassroots, non-profit organization made up of Penfield residents.

Founded in 2024, the organization is dedicated to assuring that planning and development in the town is done in a responsible manner that serves the best interests of the town and its residents.

Leadership

Per organizational bylaws, the volunteer officers of Preserve Penfield are elected annually by a vote of its members.

  • Tony is a mechanical engineer, husband, and father of two. He works in Victor, and his kids attend Penfield schools. He and his family have lived in Penfield for two years.

Tony fights for the future of Penfield so that his children will have a safe and enriching place to grow up and start their lives. He wants Penfield to be a hometown in which his and many more generations of kids can take pride.

In his role as President, Tony is responsible for setting near-term agendas and long-term strategies and focusing the efforts of a diverse group of volunteers. He facilitates regular meetings of the organization and works to keep Preserve Penfield’s activities aligned with its main objectives.

  • Laura is an educator and business owner with expertise in program evaluation and sustainability planning. She has lived in Penfield for 25 years, where she and her husband have raised their family and built their careers. She is one of the founders of Preserve Penfield.

Laura fights for the future of Penfield on behalf of those who can’t - the same underdogs she advocated for as a teacher, coach, administrator, and consultant. She also fights to assure that town services and infrastructure keep pace with development to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.

In her role as Vice President, Laura is responsible for exercising the President’s duties in the absence of the President as well as running organizational elections. She conducts a great deal of policy research in support of the organization’s objectives and is the main liaison with legal counsel.

  • Mary is an account executive in the insurance industry and mother of two kids who attended Penfield schools. She has lived and raised her family in Penfield for 28 years. She is one of the founders of Preserve Penfield.

Mary fights for the future of Penfield to preserve the town that residents deserve. Having watched development go relatively unchecked for years, she is driven to protect the community character that drew so many here.

In her role as Secretary, Mary is responsible for recording the proceedings of all official Preserve Penfield meetings. She archives and maintains the records and assures transparency throughout the organization.

  • Aimee is a teacher in the Rochester City School District and a mother of four grown children who all attended Penfield schools. She has lived in Penfield for 23 years, and is one of the founders of Preserve Penfield.

Aimee fights for the future of Penfield to protect the integrity of the community. She seeks to be a voice for community development that is focused and thoughtful while preserving the charm and character of the town.

In her role as Treasurer, Aimee is responsible for overseeing all financial collections and deposits as well as all accounting thereof. She provides monthly financial reporting to the membership, pays the bills, and prepares the tax documents.

  • Daniel is a college student majoring in Sustainability Studies with a minor in Public Administration. He is an Eagle Scout, and in 2020 became the youngest person ever to be appointed to a town committee. He has lived in Penfield for 20 years.

Dan fights for the future of Penfield because of his conviction that it can truly be a place of planned progress. He is hopeful about progress made by the town in many areas, such as environmental protection, and about future progress that can be made by confronting the issues that Preserve Penfield is bringing to light. He fights because he knows the town can have a better future, and through his work with Preserve Penfield, it will.

In his role as Parliamentarian, Dan is responsible for maintaining the organizational structure, bylaws, and policies of Preserve Penfield. He works closely with the other officers to assure that new policies and activities are undertaken in alignment with the organization’s bylaws.
